Blue Light Special - External Drives for Backups!

This post is not only for Apple who put an external hard drive on her Christmas list to Santa this year, but anyone who wants to set a New Year's resolution of backing up their data.

I have a 250GB external drive with USB 2.0 which I bought at Costco about 2 years ago. I just found out that Costco is carrying some great deals on Iomega external drives - one is even a portable (pictured on the left)!

You don't have to be a member to order from their website - but there may be a $5 surchage for being a non-member. But for a 360GB external hard drive at $99.99 I wonder if I should trade up?

I wish you hear my husband laughing in the background. It started when I got to the 360GB part. My computer only has 60GB so he figures I could never need that much storage. He just doesn't understand!

Thanks for the link!

360GB? I have a terabyte hard drive on my Christmas list... Why not go for the gusto!

Now Jasia, you're just showing off. I purposely did not list the 1 and 2 TB external drives that Costco has for sale. Apple will just need to look for them. I'm sure her husband will thank me.

Mr Bluelight is not amused but I am. Thanks for starting my day with a good laugh. Now I have to see how many times I can work terabyte & genealogy into conversation today.
