Malcolm J. Austin...Malcolm J. Austin<br />Connellsville<br /><br />Malcolm J. Austin, 81, of Connellsville, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Sept. 21, 1929, in New York, N.Y., a son of the late Ralph and Therese Austin. Malcolm was a member of Vanderbilt United Methodist Church. He graduated from the School of Blessed Sacrament in New York City in 1942. While residing in New York City, he was employed as a book keeper for several years. He then worked as an auto transporter up until his retirement. He then moved and resided in Connellsville until his death. Malcolm was a very active member of the Connellsville Moose Lodge No. 16. He was the president of the Moose Legion No. 121 and District 11 Moose secretary and also a volunteer for the Men of the Moose Charities. He is survived by a son, Stephen P. Austin, of Connellsville; grandchildren, Carley, Megan, Leeanne, Kelsey and Theresa Ann; brother, Gregory Austin; and several nieces and nephews. Malcolm requested no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Connellsville Moose Lodge 16 with the Rev. David Bell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side Connellsville.
