Are You Hungary For Turkey?

If you haven't seen Chery's great post entitled There Really is a Washington State at Nordic Blue, go see it now! Especially if you are sorely in need an end-of-the-week laugh!

Geography was always my favorite subject in school and I was, and still am, a whiz at naming state capitals, the US states that are commonwealths or republics, etc. And, perhaps Apple at Apple's Tree will be in agreement with me, but when you grow up in upstate New York, you run into many funny little towns with these names:

Cairo
Amsterdam
Egypt
Mexico
Denmark
Copenhagen
Aden

And further to that subject, I present a recent episode of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader in which another geographically-challenged person from the shallow-end of the gene pool absolutely butchers her way through the European continent in struggling for her answer. I give her credit though for the way she back-hands Jeff Foxworthy and his sexist remarks!

Europe isn't a country? I learn something new everyday! LOL

I can drive from my job in Phoenix to my home in Palermo then drive through Mexico to get to Texas - about a half hour drive.

The NY towns I've lived in include Taunton, Phoenix, Liverpool, Akron, Fulton and Palermo. Years ago it wasn't unusual for my mail to travel across the country and back before getting to me.

I don't know if I could sit through that show, to tell the truth. I love the smirks on the kid's face...
