There has been lots of talk about newspapers and genealogy lately staring with last week's episode of GeneaBloggers Radio entitled "Read All About It - Genealogy and Newspapers" (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/geneabloggers/2011/08/13/read-all-about-it-newspapers-as-genealogy-resources). Thomas - great post, very useful --- but, how can I get the prin friendly version. I can't get past your disclaimer notice
This is a great list. I'd also suggest looking at individual state archives and see if they have anything. I found some 1880's newspapers that way accidentally while I was looking for something else.
This is a great list, Thomas. Thanks for posting it. I was surprised that you didn't include http://news.google.com/newspapers or http://news.google.com/archivesearch. Google has many old newspapers available.
Oh, I just realized you posted your favorites -- and maybe google newspapers isn't one of your favorites.... Sorry.
Thanks Nancy - I think because in my Research Toolbox, I have Google News Archive listed with all the other Google search engine links http://destinationaustinfamily.blogspot.com/p/research-toolbox.html
Thanks for the shout out, Thomas, once again! Due to the GeneaBloggers Radio show, I had a number of people send me links to online historical newspapers (and directories) to add to my sites!
