A Genealogy Cruise?

Wholly Genes 8th Annual Genealogy Conference and Cruise

The other day, someone who is relatively new to the genealogy field was surprised - shocked, actually - when I told her I was going to be a speaker on a genealogy cruise.  "A genealogy cruise? What's that?" she asked.

A genealogy cruise is like a floating genealogy conference. There are usually 200 or more genealogists and family historians on board and while the ship is at sea, we attend lectures and demos just like a genealogy conference.  Also, we network during all meals and other social events - again, just like a genealogy conference.

I'm pleased to announce that I will be one of several speakers on the upcoming 8th Annual Genealogy Conference and Cruise sponsored by Wholly Genes, Inc.  The cruise, which leaves out of Seattle and travels to Alaska and along the Inside Passage, departs Sunday, September 16, 2012 and returns the following Sunday, September 23, 2012.

Besides visiting exciting ports and viewing the scenery of the Alaska coastline, while at sea, you will be able to partake in 17 hours of genealogy and technology lectures delivered by some very well known speakers including:
  • Thomas W. Jones, Ph.D., CG, CGL
  • J. Mark Lowe, CG
  • Debra S. Mieszala, CG
  • Paul Milner, M.Div
  • Craig Scott, MA, CG
and yours truly, Thomas MacEntee! You can learn much more about genealogy cruising and how you can join me for this event by clicking here. I hope you'll join me for what I'm sure will be a fun and educational week with other genealogists!
